Samsung's Glasses-Free 3D Display Wins CES Award

Samsung is making a major push into the enterprise market with its new “Spatial Signage,” an 85-inch glasses-free 3D display that just won a 2026 CES Innovation Award. The debut marks a significant move for the longtime display leader into the commercial space.

  • Look ma, no glasses: The 85-inch screen features a remarkably slim profile and uses what Samsung calls its patented 3D Plate technology to add immersive depth to standard 2D content. The goal is to create more captivating visuals for retail, stadiums, and other commercial venues without the need for special eyewear.

  • The enterprise bundle: The launch leverages Samsung's long-standing dominance in the digital signage market. The hardware is bundled with Samsung VXT, a cloud-based content management system that lets businesses remotely manage their display networks.

While first teased at IFA 2025, CES marks the official commercial debut for Spatial Signage. The technology is positioned as a direct challenge to the clunky, box-like 'hologram' systems that have appeared in recent years, but its success will depend on solving 3D's historical headaches—namely, that good content is expensive to make and not every seat in the house gets a good view.
