Microsoft's Copilot 'AI Companion' Lands on Samsung's 2025 TVs

Microsoft's Copilot AI is officially rolling out to Samsung's 2025 lineup of smart TVs and monitors, bringing a voice-controlled "AI companion" directly into the living room.

  • A friendly face: The AI appears on-screen as a bouncing, animated character that lip-syncs its responses. Integrated into Samsung’s Tizen OS, it can field voice commands for movie suggestions or quick show summaries, with a more tailored experience available for users who sign into their Microsoft account.
  • The battle for the living room: “Copilot on Samsung TVs is designed to feel like an AI companion in your living room,” said Microsoft’s David Washington. The partnership isn't exclusive, as LG also plans to integrate Copilot, signaling Microsoft's push to own the AI experience on the biggest screen in the home.

While Microsoft pushes onto TVs, Samsung is hedging its bets, showing how hardware makers are leveraging various AI partners across their product ecosystems to see what sticks with consumers.
