Sky Sports Scores 11-Year NBA Deal, Wrestling UK Rights Back from TNT

Sky Sports has secured an 11-year pact to become the UK and Ireland’s home for the NBA, bringing over 100 live games per season to the platform through 2036. The move follows a similar North American deal by parent company Comcast, solidifying its international basketball broadcasting strategy.

  • More than just men's hoops: Coverage is already underway with live pre-season games ahead of the season tip-off later this month. The partnership also includes rights for the WNBA, with games set to begin airing during the 2026/27 season.

  • A crowded court: The deal marks the NBA's return to Sky after a two-season run on TNT Sports. But Sky won't be the only streaming choice for UK fans, who can also find a package of games on Prime Video. Sky may be looking to add even more games, with Broadcast reporting that the company is in advanced talks with the NBA for further broadcast rights.

For UK basketball fans, the league now has a new, long-term primary home. For Comcast, the deal creates a powerful transatlantic sports media strategy, establishing a dominant basketball broadcasting footprint in both North America and key European markets. This push for basketball dominance isn't limited to the UK, as reports show Sky is also bolstering its NBA offering in Italy, reinforcing a continent-wide strategy.
