LG Electronics has launched webOS Hub 3.0, an AI-enhanced version of its TV platform for third-party brands, designed to deliver richer UX and uplevel its B2B partnerships.
Intelligence injection: The upgraded platform integrates several AI-driven features, including Voice Recommendation powered by ThinQ AI, “AI Picture with Neural Network Super Resolution,” and an “AI Sound” function to minimize noise and clarify voices. LG states this new iteration also utilizes advanced System-on-Chip (SoC) technology for distinct performance gains over its predecessor.
Content and connectivity: Users get access to numerous OTT services and LG Channels, the company’s FAST service now offering 4,000 channels globally. Gamers benefit from a new Gaming Portal, while other enhancements include Multiview, Always On Display, and support for Wi-Fi 6 and Auracast Bluetooth audio.
Data debates brewing: While LG promotes these advancements, its broader webOS ecosystem has previously faced scrutiny regarding its data collection practices, as reported by ChannelNews.
